Direct-to-consumer (DTC) laboratory tests will be coming soon to Tomorrow’s Health!
Direct-to-consumer (DTC) laboratory tests will be coming soon to Tomorrow’s Health. See below some little-known facts about DTC testing:
- Direct-to-consumer (DTC) testing is also known as patient-ordered lab testing
- In the state of Washington, it is legal for patients to order their own lab tests – in other words, it does NOT require a doctor’s order
- In fact, it is legal in the majority (37) of states in the U.S. for patients to order their own lab tests
- Because lab tests provide critical information about a person’s health, DTC testing is meant to help patients be more directly involved in decisions about their own healthcare
